GARMENT PRINTING

Our printing service for clothing includes a comprehensive range of techniques to reproduce your design. There are a range of different print techniques available, and one maybe more appropriate than the others depending on the garments you are using, the quantity of garments required or the complexity of your logo. As an overview we use vinyl, inkjet, and laser print transfers, DTG or screen print. Graphic files we accept are .jpeg, .png, pdf, eps at a min of 300dpi resolution. The printing methods are explained below.

VINYL TRANSFER

The best way to think of vinyl transfer is comparable to the names and numbers on the back of a football shirt. Vinyl cutting works on shapes rather than photographic images. Vinyl transfer is great for less complex designs with low colours, typically a logo with 1-2 colours made up of text and simple shapes. This process works well for relatively low quantity orders 1-30 pieces for example.  Vinyl transfer is suitable for a majority of fabric types (apart from fleece and wool and fabrics with special finishes such as waterproof fabrics).

Here are a few questions often asked about this service.

Can my design be printed onto any coloured garment?

We can print onto any colour of garment with vinyl printing as it does not affect the quality of the print.

Do different sized prints cost more?

Yes. The larger the print the more material, ink and time it takes to produce.

Why do we ask to view artwork in order to provide a quote?

By viewing the design and knowing the type of garment you want this to go onto will provide us with enough information to know how long it will take to produce.  For example with vinyl printing a simple shape cut in vinyl will not take long to weed away the unwanted areas, whereas a complicated and intricate design may take a long time to weed away the unwanted areas. It will also allow us to advise you on the quality of your graphics file.

How do I order printed clothing?

Firstly take a look through our catalogue. Select the item you are interested in and go through the personalisation process. Here you will be able to upload your artwork and select the positioning of your print. Complete the process and we will receive an email requesting to provide a quote. We will check your artwork/design and advise if we need to make changes and provide you with a quote.

Are there any setup charges?

Yes, we charge for the time it takes to produce your artwork into a print ready file. For designs that are more intricate we charge more for the time to produce the artwork to be print ready. this is why we ask to see your artwork.

Are there minimum order quantities?

We don’t have a minimum order quantity, however it is always more expensive to produce a single item because of the setting up costs.

What type of artwork do I need to supply?

A good quality jpg, .png or pdf file is perfect. Screen shots and low resolution images will take up too much time to be able to produce a print ready file. If in doubt, email us your artwork and we’ll check it.

Can I use my own garments for printing?

Yes you can bring along your own products. We will need to inspect that they are suitable for printing and will advise if we are unsure how they will be under a heat press. We prefer to print onto our own supplied products as we know they have been tested and are suitable. Some cheaply manufactured garments use substandard chemicals in the production methods and when heat pressed the colours can be affected. Also heat press marks are clearly visible.

Can I order samples before I place an order?

We can ship blank samples of garments the next day. The costs will be as a single item plus delivery. Samples can only be returned to us if they are being used for an order

INK JET TRANSFER PRINTING

This process is the method of printing complex images onto a transfer carrier film which is then contour cut and applied to the garment by heat transfer. This allows photographic images to be produced along with text and shapes. Great for photos and logo work. The transfer film is suitable for a majority of fabric types (apart from fleece and wool and fabrics with special finishes such as waterproof fabrics).

LASER PRINTING

Full colour complex images can be achieved with this method, but it only works with White and light coloured garments. The image is printed in reverse and then placed onto the garment to be heat pressed. This process transfers the laser print powders onto the garment, and so requires the white background or light colour to provide a backing to the image. This is our cheapest form of printing and is good for event T Shirts where they are required for a one off occasion. Raster or vector images can be printed with this method.

Here are a few questions often asked about this service.

Can my design be printed onto any coloured garment?

No. Our Laser printing will only work on white or light coloured garments. This is because the colour of the garment will come though to the print and affect the clarity of the colours in the image. A white garment will give the best quality of print with this method.

Do different sized prints cost more?

Yes. The larger the print the more material, ink and time it takes to produce.

Why do we ask to view artwork in order to provide a quote?

We view your files to check that the resolution is good. We do not charge a set up fee as we simply need to print what is there and then press it onto the garment. we do not need to create any cut lines etc.

DTG 'Direct To Garment' PRINTING

Full colour complex images can be achieved with this method. The image is printed directly onto the garment. This produces a screen printed effect, is Matt in finish and can produce high volumes of printed T shirts in a short space of time.

Here are a few questions often asked about this service.

Can my design be printed onto any coloured garment?

Yes. However the vibrancy of the image is sharper on white garments. With Black and darker fabrics white ink needs to be placed first before the image is printed over.

Do different sized prints cost more?

No. We carge for the whole setting up process and a large print will cost the same as a small print.

Why do we ask to view artwork in order to provide a quote?
